Office Positions
We are seeking an experienced office adventure professional to join our team. The ideal person will have:

River Positions
Water By Nature run commercial rafting and kayaking trips on rivers graded 3 – 5 in a diverse number of countries.
The company employs guides who hold:
- NZ National Raft Guide Award for River Grade 4 & 5 or equivalent
- NZ National Senior Raft Guide Award for River Grade 5 or equivalent
- Guides from outside NZ will need to provide full details of experience and qualifications for consideration.
Positions with the company
From time to time we have positions that come available including raft guides, safety kayakers and kayak Instructors. Please note, all employees must have a full drivers license.
Persons interested in working for Water By Nature need to supply:
- A log of river trips that details the river, section, duration, grade of river, water levels, number of rafts on the trip, the type of raft used, the method of rafting (paddle or oared), the name of the company that organised that trip, the name of the Trip leader and a mention of any accidents or incidents on these trips.
- A list of referees that can verify that the applicant has worked for their organisation and possess the skills and experience that the applicant claims to have.
- A Curriculum Vitae (Resume) that details the past work places that the applicant has worked at, with descriptions of what the position required the applicant to do.
- The Operations Manager will need to verify the skills and qualifications of the applicant before any formal consideration of employment can be offered.
- Training will be provided to employees to ensure they are familiar with the company's Safe Operational Plan, policies and procedures.
- Trip Leaders will be required to have a minimum of 10 years full time documented experience in 2 of the following three disciplines
Paddle Rafting, Oar Rafting, Kayaking
- Trip Leaders will be required to hold US Wilderness First Responder qualifications which are up to date
- All guides must have current CPR, Swiftwater Rescue and First Aid Qualifications. Evidence of this must be submitted with your application.
- Any guides applying for work must have 5 years full time documented experience in 2 of the following three disciplines
Paddle Rafting, Oar Rafting, Kayaking
No employee will be considered if she/he is just a safety kayaker.
Persons interested in Kayaking for Water By Nature need to supply:
- A minimum of BCU 4 star coach.
- Evidence of training and recertification.
- A detailed log of all kayaking trips where paying guests have been taken, how many paddlers where on the trip, boats used and any incidents or accidents which were experienced. A minimum of 5 years full time river experience is required.
- Where you will be trip leading a US Wilderness First Responder or EMT qualification, as well as a recognized Swiftwater Rescue Qualification such as Rescue 3 International.
- All instructors must have First Aid, CPR, and Swiftwater Rescue qualifications.
Guide Training
Every year, Water By Nature run a river guide course aimed at getting the basics across to new guides. We run an extensive course based in Turkey and outline ways of improving experience and offer contacts for you to gain experience. Each year we offer the top guide to further their experience with another season with Water By Nature.
