Amalfi Coast & Capri Sailing Vacation
Italy’s Amalfi Coast has long captured the imagination of travellers with its dramatic cliff-lined coastline, colourful fishing villages, incredible food and wonderfully relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle.
Our small-group Amalfi Coast Sailing Holiday combines all of those elements into one unforgettable journey exploring some of the most beautiful parts of southern Italy by both land and sea. We operate our scheduled departures in May when the weather is warm, the sea is inviting and the summer crowds have yet to arrive. Departures are guaranteed with a minimum of just four guests, ensuring a relaxed and personal experience throughout.
Beginning in the vibrant city of Naples, we’ll experience authentic Neapolitan culture and cuisine before stepping back in time amongst the fascinating ruins of Pompeii. From there we board our yacht and begin sailing one of the most spectacular coastlines in Europe.
Over the following days we’ll explore beautiful Positano, historic Amalfi, glamorous Capri, laid-back Ischia and charming Procida whilst enjoying stunning sailing, hidden anchorages, warm Mediterranean swimming stops and incredible dining experiences along the way.
Some lunches will be spent in tiny harbours accessible only by boat. Evenings may involve long relaxed dinners overlooking the sea, wandering through lively piazzas with a gelato in hand or simply watching the sunset from the deck with a glass of wine.
With just a small group onboard, the atmosphere throughout the trip remains personal, relaxed and wonderfully unhurried.
This is not a rushed sightseeing itinerary. It’s about properly experiencing southern Italy with its culture, scenery, food and slower pace of life all whilst travelling in one of the very best ways possible.
For sailing enthusiasts, we are also planning a special America’s Cup departure in July 2027, combining this remarkable coastline with one of the most exciting events in world sailing.
Whether you are drawn by the sailing, the food, the history or simply the beauty of the Amalfi Coast itself, this journey delivers an unforgettable slice of Mediterranean life.
Itinerary & Map
Arrive into Naples where we begin our Italian adventure together. After settling into our hotel, we’ll head out into the lively streets of Naples to enjoy dinner at one of the city’s oldest and most famous pizza restaurants. There could hardly be a better introduction to southern Italy.

Today we explore the remarkable lost city of Pompeii. Buried beneath volcanic ash following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79AD, Pompeii offers an extraordinary glimpse into ancient Roman life. We’ll spend the day wandering its remarkably preserved streets, villas and ruins before returning to Naples for the evening.

This morning we transfer to Salerno where we step aboard our yacht and begin sailing along the spectacular Amalfi Coast.
Our first stop is beautiful Amalfi where there’ll be time to wander the narrow streets and perhaps sample one of the region’s famous lemon sorbets.
After lunch we continue sailing along one of the world’s most iconic coastlines towards stunning Positano where pastel-coloured buildings tumble dramatically down towards the sea. Tonight we enjoy a very special dinner overlooking the bay.

Enjoy a relaxed morning in Positano before we continue sailing past the beautiful Li Galli Islands.
Around lunchtime we stop at one of our favourite hidden restaurants along the coast, accessible only by boat, for an unforgettable Mediterranean dining experience.
Later we sail onwards to Capri where we spend the evening. For those interested in history, the ruins of Emperor Tiberius’ Villa Jovis are well worth visiting, while others may prefer simply enjoying Capri’s lively piazzas, cafés and restaurants.

This morning we take one of Capri’s iconic open-top taxis into town where you’ll have time to wander the charming narrow streets, enjoy a coffee overlooking the harbour or simply soak up the wonderful atmosphere.
We then sail across to Sorrento, perched dramatically above the Bay of Naples. The evening is yours to explore this beautiful coastal town with its lively restaurants, bars and stunning sea views.

Today we sail to the fascinating island of Ischia, known for its thermal springs, volcanic landscapes and relaxed island atmosphere.
There’ll be time to explore the island, enjoy the famous geothermal baths or simply relax beside the water before dinner.

This morning we enjoy a beautiful hike on Ischia before sailing across to colourful Procida, the smallest island in the Bay of Naples and one of Italy’s true hidden gems.
With its pastel-coloured fishing villages and wonderfully authentic feel, Procida makes a perfect final evening on the water.

Today we enjoy our final sail back towards Naples together.
After disembarking we check back into our hotel and enjoy a final group dinner reflecting on an incredible week exploring one of Europe’s most spectacular coastlines.

What you should bring
We find most of our clients have in their possession already what is needed for a sailing trip. We have broken down here the items into what you’ll need on the yacht, on the river and in camp. An equipment list of what you will require for your adventure will be sent to you prior to your departure.
Download equipment file- A pair of white soled sailing shoes for on board the yacht
- 2 pairs of shorts (longer leg length)
- 2 swimming costumes or bikinis
- 2 rash vests (not cotton) or long sleeved top to wear under your personal flotation device.
- A baseball cap for onboard the yacht to keep sun off – can be purchased from your crew
- Sunglasses.
- Chums for fastening your sunglasses to your head – can be purchased from your in country crew.
- 1 Litre Nalgene / Sigg or similar water bottle.
- Waterproof camera such as GoPro for the ‘action’ shots
- Waterproof sunscreen and lip balm SPF30 minimum.
- Sailing gloves
- Pack all your items in preferably a soft duffel as these store better onboard the yacht.
- Smart casual evening wear

- Underwear and socks
- Spending money

- Glasses or Contact lenses. Disposable lenses are ideal.
- Toiletries. Toothbrush, toothpaste, biodegradable soap and shampoo.
- Forget the cosmetics and hair dryer! But we do suggest moisturizer.
- Hand wipes and a small bottle of hand sanitiser.
- Small pack towel.
- Headlamp or head torch with spare batteries.
- Any medication you may be taking.
- Your favourite book/kindle or a journal for recording your vacation memories.
- Sketchpad.
- Binoculars.
- Photographic or video equipment. We recommend a cleaning kit.
- Spare memory card.
- Solar or portable charger.
- The only money that you need to bring is for souvenirs, personal items and alcohol at restaurants. Please remember that many of the countries we visit do offer Credit Card and ATM facilities and for a small charge you can withdraw cash either from your account or Credit Card for convenience.
- If you wish to pass on a gratuity to your crew we leave this entirely up to you.
- Basically, we advise you to keep things as light as possible, without skimping on the necessities. It is great to bring back a load of goodies for everybody back at home.
