Romance On The River?

Picture the scene; a beautiful sandy beach, a stunning sunset, great food, a glass of wine in hand, surrounded by the sounds of nature; A romantic scene in its simplicity. And add to this a group of fun like-minded people, getting together in an environment without the need for modern facades. No need for decoration. Real people, meeting real people. Is it any wonder that romance has blossomed on many of our trips.

Taken Helen from Hertfordshire, UK, who came on one of our Zambezi trips, only to find her fellow travelers included twelve rugby players from a local club in Pocklington near York, UK. On the day she booked, she good humouredly commented that surely she had good odds of meeting someone special on the trip. And that she did. Helen met Paddy and they are now happily married and with two children. A life changing trip for both, if ever there was one.

We have had on occasion, people tying the knot on our trips setting up a beautiful private beach in New Zealand for them to say their vows before joining us for their honeymoon. Many choose to rekindle romances by celebrating special anniversaries. Jeff and Karen from the US celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with us on the Zambezi this year. Now their children have left home, they feel they can relight their love of adventure together by taking trips that they could only dream of when they were younger.

However, not wishing to imply that rafting trips should be part of any good dating site, the more serious point to be made is that on our trips, everyone can be themselves without all the trappings of modern life where everyone is on a level footing. Where genuine lifelong friendships and partnerships can be born, because no one is required to be anything other than themselves.
