Welcome to our brand new adventure in South Africa. This family friendly adventure incorporates a few stunning days in Cape Town staying at the Waterfront with a chance to go up Table Mountain and sample the views, or visit Robben Island for some history, before we travel to the Northern Cape for our adventure down the Orange river. Starting near Pofadder in the Northern Cape, this section of the river offers a variety of conditions, from flat water to flowing channels, lots of exciting small rapids and a few bouncy ones to get the adrenaline flowing. We use inflatable two person boats that are easy to paddle and steer. We also have rafts that are very stable and perfect for less confident or younger paddlers. We cover just over 30kms during the trip so there is ample time to relax, read your book or explore the camp surroundings.
When we return to Cape Town by aircraft from Uppington, we'll stay in the stunning Camps Bay. We take a visit to the vineyards in Franschoek including wine tasting and lunch and the following day before you fly out, you'll get the chance to fill your trip with a little more adventure, or just relax at your hotel until your flight leaves. Join us for this world class adventure at half term or Christmas holidays.

What You Will Be Up To!
  • Day 1

Meet and greet at Cape Town airport by your Trip Leader. We'll transfer you to your hotel in the heart of Cape Town. Day of leisure to explore Robben Island, Table Mountain or many other options. For the evening we have arranged a cruise on the harbour and Victoria & Albert Waterfront.

    Day 2

Transfer to Wild Paradise. Stop at Augrabies Falls National Park for lunch and to view the falls (highest on Orange) Camp at Wild Paradise, Onseepkans.

    Day 3

A gentle introduction, allowing you to become familiar with your craft. In the afternoon, you’ll tackle three small rapids – ‘Scorpion’, ‘Screwdriver’ and ‘Corkscrew’ and end with ‘Little Falls’, the first class 2+ - 3 rapid of the trip. A great sunset hike to view the Ritchie Falls.
    All meals and drinks included.

    Day 4

The second day is big on action! It starts with a portage to get the boat around the falls (they are lowered on ropes to the river below), continues with a paddle up under the falls for a welcome shower and ends with running the biggest rapid of the trip, ‘Big Bunny’. Big Bunny is a fun, whitewater roller coaster which often results in a few swims – younger kids and those not keen for a dunking can simply walk around it.
    All meals and drinks included.
