Chile Rafting Vacations
Rio Futaleufu
The Rio Futaleufu is no ordinary river. Born in the Los Alerces National Park in Argentina it flows west into Chile, through landscapes dominated by snow capped volcanoes and rich rain forest before arriving at the coastal town of Chaiten. Meaning 'Great River' in the local Mapuche dialect, the astonishingly clear waters of the 'Fu' flows through deep canyons and pristine wilderness to create explosive and untamed white water, unparalleled anywhere in the world. This trip is designed to immerse you in the beauty, magic and culture of Patagonia. Half a world away from the cold northern winter you will find yourself sitting on the porch of your cabana, sipping on a glass of Chilean red wine and basking in the splendour of the Chilean summer with the distant rumble of your next exciting rapid just within earshot. Described by the locals as "a place so lovely it must have been painted by God", this is an experience not to be missed.
Day 1

Day 2
After a filling breakfast at our hotel, we board our vehicles for the gorgeous drive to our property on the banks of the Rio Futaleufu. We stop in Esquel for lunch before entering Chile and a float down the river to get into "vacation mode". Sample some Chilean wine and cheese for the short float down to your home for the next week.

Awaken to the sounds of nature and a hearty breakfast followed by a thorough safety talk before heading out onto the "Bridge to Bridge" section of the river. Enjoy morning coffee looking out from your cabana over the clear waters running quite literally beneath you. Today we will head towards Inferno Canyon for some adrenaline surging white water. But also some glorious flat sections to sit back and enjoy the feeling of complete remoteness before challenging the might of "El Throno". A well-deserved tipple awaits us back at camp.

Day 5
We have another great day ahead of us. A few, fun warm up rapids before we reach the legendary "Terminator"…. it's bigger than big. And if that isn't enough for you there is the superb "Khyber Pass" and the hugely exciting "Himalayas" to finish the day. On our return to camp we enjoy a sumptuous meal washed down with a Pisco Sour or a glass of fine Chilean red wine.
Included: All meals

Day 7
A refreshing blast through Mundaca to make sure we are truly awake before another amazing stretch of white water including "The Fish Bowl" and "House Rock". This evening, you will experience real Chilean hospitality with a traditional 'Asado' cooked by our local Chilean friends and have time to recount stories from the past week, on one of the best white water rivers in the world.

Day 8
An early start is required this morning in order to get your flight from Esquel to Buenas Aires. Due to flights being delayed out of Esquel on occasion, we suggest planning an extra night in Buenas Aires.
