Tyler Dinsdale "Captain Top-Up"

Back

Country of origin - Canada

Tyler started guiding in his summers in Canada whilst still working full time as a life guard. Realising that this was a lot more fun than sitting in a highchair, dreaming off far off rivers,, he started travelling the world. He worked in New Zealand, on the Tully in Australia, as well as the White Nile and Zambezi. This guy is a favourite with our female guests, not for his looks, but for the fantastic desserts he can make over an open fire. Possibly one of the funniest people you will meet.

Favourite river trips

The Omo River

"Being raised with a team of dogs in northern Canada, when I left home I was pretty keen to go somewhere to get a tan. Africa seemed the obvious place. Rafting on the Omo River last October was a real eye opener for me. Its great to be working with a company that is out there doing it still with river travel and exploration. After 20 something days on the river, the guides and the clients are pretty good friends. To gain access to areas so untouched and unseen by so many people is a real privilege."

Hidden Morocco

"When WBN offered me a job in Morocco I was a little sceptical. All I had heard about there was the sahara, and lets face it rafting there is not going to be that much fun! Little did I know the treat I was in for when I paddled down the Ahansel river for the first time. A stunning drive to the river, monkeys a turtles on the river and incredibly beautiful canyons. The beach at Essaouira is pretty fun too on our kayak trips. I did finally make it to the Sahara and took my kayak. Made for some great Christmas Cards last year!"
